Through their formative years, you can look forward to consistent, organized activities and achievements that you’ll be part of — weekly den meetings, monthly pack nights, the Pinewood Derby, service projects, beach hikes along the Pacific Palisades coast, and our annual overnight at Camp Emerald Bay. You and your scout will both be happy to soar to new heights together!

Expectations & Time Commitments
There is a Pack meeting typically on the 1st Monday of every month from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at Brentwood Presbyterian Church. Individual Dens host monthly meetings/activities on their own to work on requirements and earn age-appropriate badges.
Special Pack Activities: Raingutter Regatta, Kite Derby, Pinewood Derby, camp-outs and overnights, service projects, nature hikes
How to Volunteer: Cub Scouts does not work without participation from volunteers and families. What can you do to help?
The Uniform
Once your boy or girl is registered, you may purchase a 'Class A' uniform, and the required badges. Please find information about what items to purchase and where to get them on the Cub Scout Uniform Page.
How Can You Help at Home?
The most important way you can support your scout is to join in on their Cub Scouting adventures as they work toward each rank badge. The Cub Scout handbook is packed with age-appropriate, fun activities — many of them are perfect for doing together at home as a family.
Den meetings are designed to help scouts complete required adventures with their friends and leaders, but the real magic happens when you work side-by-side with your child on at-home requirements. Whether it's building a Pinewood Derby car, exploring nature on a Pacific Palisades hike, preparing for a service project, or practicing a skill for Camp Emerald Bay, these shared moments create lasting memories and help your scout grow in confidence and character.
When you finish a requirement at home, just let your den leader know — they’ll make sure it’s recorded so your scout can earn their recognition at the next pack meeting. Your involvement is the secret to a thriving Cub Scouting experience in Pack 223 — thank you for being part of this adventure with us!
Cost of Cub Scouting
The annual dues/membership fee for Pack 223 for 2025/2026 is a $485. Each new scout receives a 'Class B' t-shirt, neckerchief, neckerchief slide, and current-year handbook/materials. You will be responsible for purchasing the 'Class A' uniform: shirt, shorts/pants, belt, and hat.

How to Volunteer?
The Pack and Dens rely on parent participation to run a successful program. Cub Scouting operates through volunteer leadership. Volunteer leaders are an example of Scouting’s principle of service to others. By volunteering in Scouting, you are also giving your child and family the gift of your time. You will have an opportunity to be a positive influence in their life and in the lives of their friends. Here are some of the ways you could volunteer:
Den Leader: Uses the leader guide and plans to lead the den at den meetings. Attends occasional pack committee meetings.
Cubmaster and Assistant Cubmaster: Helps plan and carry out the pack program with the help of the pack committee. Emcees the monthly pack meeting and attends pack committee meetings.
